Summer – Pt. 2/2

Almost walking.

Swimming until sundown.

It had been one of those days when the heat had felt like a loud, buzzing noise ever since morning. Working on renovating the guesthouse the sun was getting to us. We bike down to the harbor, kids in the back, and go for a swim.

Her favorite spot.

Compared to the relatively laid back first half of summer, there was a bit more on our agenda for the second half.

The guesthouse at our countryside retreat needed some TLC – a new coat of paint, window frame repairs, new barge boards and roof maintenance were all things we had to get done. With taking care of the kids eating up a lot of the day it was a bit of a challenge to find time for everything, but eventually we got there.

We also had the in-laws visit, celebrated our oldest’s birthday and even managed an outing to a zoo with her.

At the zoo.

B-day.

Done.

And just like that, summer was over and it was time to head back to the city once again.
